CROSSING PATHS: Rockin' Discoveries

I can't think of a better story to share on this bright sunny South Florida Easter morning.

This world, this planet - seems so vast & large. Most of the time. And then we get subtle reminders of just how small & interconnected we all really are. According to a FB post made by her son Mike - Kelly Kremposky passed away Sept 6, 2019. Leaving behind a family that loved & would dearly miss her. In keeping her memory forever alive they rallied together to start the 'Kellys Rocks Of Kindness initiative.' The what?, you ask. Keep reading dear friend - it'll all start to make sense in just a moment or two. And yes, I AM making you finish all your meal before the dessert- so your links are all here, you just have to get to the bottom of the plate (I mean page.) Patience grasshoppers.

And for us ~ It all started here... On our private trail that encircles the property.

Doing a little trail maintenance between guests one sunny afternoon and I spy upon a bright purple dot ahead nestled quietly at the base of a large banana tree. It's south Florida after all- what amazing creature will I stumble upon today. With caution, (it's south Florida after all...) I move slowly, meticulously towards the glistening purple 'object', so as to not startle it

(or myself) as I approach. It makes no attempt to mind me as I move ever closer.

What do you know.

It's a butterfly.

But not your typical butterfly. The weight of this butterfly will never fly- (well I suppose, one could argue if one picked up the rock said butterfly adorns and threw it, technically - it's flying.) But I digress. 'This' butterfly was never meant to fly.

It's a painted rock.

What is it's story?

Where did it come from?

How did it get HERE?

I ask myself as I admire the art from when humankind picked up where Mother Nature left off. Glancing around (as if I actually expected to see the bearer of gifts darting between the trees.) Yeah, I know. I've been watching way too much TV. My eye suddenly happens to catch upon a pink object sitting in the fronds of a nearby Sable Palm Tree.

It's a PIG!

Wearing a crown of yellow flowers.

Yes, yes - I know. Only in south Florida.

At this juncture - I'm excitedly calling this an 'Easter Egg Hunt' for grownups.

Are there more???

Sadly no.

But I feel beyond blessed with my 2 new friends.

So

What does this all mean...

Well, while I will never probably know 'Who'

A wonderful little tag on the backs of the rocks shed a little more light as to the 'What' & 'Why' of the mystical little creatures who took up residence on our little 'ole walking trail that day. KellysRocksOfKindess on Instagram & KellysRocksOfKindness on FB

And if you want to know how this whole thing started - I found this:

And it looks like they all have 1 very simple, clear message:

"One message (picture) at just the right moment can change your whole day. Outlook. Life"

Perhaps this has inspired you to take up a 'painted rock project' of your own.

Now if you'll excuse me - I have a few rock pictures to share over on social media.

Take care friends
